Farmed Animal Funders (FAF) is a decentralized funding collaborative. Our shared aim is to hasten the end of factory farming through collaboration and shared learning. FAF staff provide individualized advice and research to our members. Each member of Farmed Animal Funders maintains full autonomy over their own philanthropy.
FAF is not a grantmaking organization.

Eligibility
We welcome foundations and high-net-worth individuals to join FAF who:
Are in alignment with FAF’s mission and values
Give USD $250,000+ annually to charitable initiatives fighting factory farming
Agree to abide by FAF’s code of conduct and anti-harassment policy
Don’t solicit funds for their own gain and are not a regranting organization
Our Team
Shannon Campion
Executive Director
Before joining Farmed Animal Funders, Shannon spent twenty years in the public education advocacy space, most recently as President at Stand for Children, a national organization at the forefront of the fight for educational equity. She had the incredible fortune to help build Stand for Children, alongside remarkable leaders, into a highly impactful organization with 115 staff and a $20+ million combined 501c(3) and c(4) budget. Shannon has been on the Board of The Humane League (THL) since 2020, and Board Chair since 2021. She is cycling off THL’s Board in 2024.
Zoë Sigle
Director of Programs
Zoë is the Director of Programs at Farmed Animal Funders, where she builds out member programming and provides philanthropic advising. Previously, Zoë led an international team at Mercy For Animals in partnering with global food companies to develop meaningful farmed animal welfare policies. Zoë also serves as an Animal Welfare Fund Manager with Effective Altruism Funds. She holds a Master of Food and Agriculture Law and Policy degree from Vermont Law School and a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies.
Megan Nelson
Operations and Communications Manager
Megan is responsible for ensuring efficient internal operations and supporting impactful, high-quality programming and events. She joins Farmed Animal Funders after an eleven-year career as a social worker, primarily in New York City, where she oversaw a city-funded program supporting family caregivers. She also serves as the part-time Community Health Coordinator for Effective Altruism NYC, where she is a designated confidential contact-person and advises the staff and board on maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community.
Our members
Our group is open to all individuals and foundations giving more than $250,000 per year to work to supplant factory farming. We are also open to influential leaders who may be new to the movement, and those with the potential to give much greater sums over time.
